In some states, if you were in an accident or stopped and admitted to drinking kava, it could lead to a DUI charge depending on the situation.

Right now, there’s no roadside test for kava, but the safest move is simple: enjoy it at home and avoid driving for an hour after a few shells  until you’re back to full alertness.
