Why do you need a Kava Straining Bags? Lets kick off start with the basics. Kavalactones are not soluble in water – just like oil. Unlike our Instant kava range, traditional kava powder won’t dissolve if you just apply water. You need to agitate the kava powder in the water to release the kava lactones. This is where a kava straining bag is essential for all traditional kava powder drinkers !
Many things can be used to filter kava, people often use stockings, cheese cloth or even old t-shirts! But having a high micron kava strainer can significantly increase the extraction of kavalactones and the quality of the filtered end product.
Our Kava Straining Bags can be used for months on end and are built to last. They are made using FDA approved Nylon and are they BPA Free. We only stock the large size, so you can easily prepare any amount from 30 grams to 500 grams comfortably.
