Anti-inflammatory & analgesic groundwork
Lab and animal studies have shown that kavalactones (especially kavain) can reduce swelling (edema) and inflammation in rat models. MDPI

⚖️ What to keep in mind: limitations & precautions
Human clinical trials are lacking: Most positive signals come from lab or animal models, not large, controlled human studies.
