This kava has quite a mild taste compared to others - great if you don't want the heaviness & sedation of Waka (my favourite) or to blend in with or tone down Waka or simply alone by itself if you just want a milder tasting brew and mentally relaxing effects.

There will be no Tongan kava that will get close to what Australian kava shop came up with . Its worth every cent a balance of taste, potency, relaxation, headiness all in sync and it lasts hours. There is a reason why AKS are selling the Tongan amongst the heavyweights of Fiji Waka and the kings of the heavyweights kava blends from Vanuatu.

First time Kava user and I'm super happy to have found Australia Kava Shop.
Shopping experience has been great from start to end.
The product itself "Moana Premium" is fantastic (disclaimer: first time consumer).
As a newbie, the only hurdle was for me to workout the ratio as the label in the back raised a few more questions than answering them.
Luckily, the site has some great YouTube resources.
Will definitely order again, but this time 1kg as it seems more economical 🙂

The description and other reviews kinda enticed me to try this stuff instead of my usual go-to the Fiji Waka... And jeez is it different. O.o
Been drinking kava for about 10 months now after quitting alcohol, and usually indulge in the fiji waka, and melo melo, and the instant kava. Find they all give a very strong high for about 35 minutes and then peter out, and you come down for another 30-60 minutes...
Not so with the Tongan kava... It's like a very slow hot air balloon ride that just keeps floating up into the clouds for over an hour, and lasts over 2hrs with relaxation effects for another hour after that. Very strange kava, but pleasant. :)
It also tastes soooo much better than the other Kava strains. Kinda like clean plant roots mixed with flower juice. It's actually quite an enjoyable taste, and is even sippable without having to gulp it down before you get sick.
Not as strong as the Fiji waka, but the effects last a veeery long time, and the heady feeling is really nice and uplifting.
Also really pleased about how much kava prices have come down the last few months. Starting to become a very affordable alcohol alternative. ^_^
Anyway, big thanks to the Moana plantation for growing this lovely strain, might become my go-to cause it just lasts so long.

I didn't feel any effect from the 6 times I've tried it. I've been reading about different methods of making Kava, the reverse intolerance, taking on an empty stomach, I made sure I did the 10 minutes of agitating and the right temperature water - still no effect. I also increased my dose each time but I unfortunately I didn't feel any effect. The company seem reputable and other people seem to have success with their kava, I just didn't have that success. If you're wanting relief from anxiety and depression like I am, just keep in mind that Kava may work for you, it may not. I hope it works for you. It's also very dehydrating so drink water before or after your sesh.
